Set-combinations of the mixed-dimension cellular objects of the Djinn API

چکیده
This paper is concerned with the mathematics and formal specification of “set-like” operations for the mixed dimension cellular objects of the Djinn Application Programming Interface. The relationships between these operations and stratifications of dimensionally heterogeneous semianalytic point-sets are uncovered and formalised. Semianalytic geometry is central to the algebraic model discussed in this paper, but multidisciplinary concepts from topology, differential geometry and computer aided geometric design also have been used. In particular, the use of strong relative topological stratifications enables Djinn to satisfy significant industrial requirements. Acknowledgements The Djinn API design decisions that are discussed or implicit in this paper reflect a consensus of the Djinn project team: Cecil Armstrong, Adrian Bowyer, Stephen Cameron, Jonathan Corney, Graham Jared, Ralph Martin, Alan Middleditch, Malcolm Sabin, Jonathan Salmon, and John Woodwark. The Djinn project was funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the UK.

Least Stratifications and Cell-Structured Objects in Geometric Modelling
Results from the study of O-minimal structures are used to formalise fundamental objects and operations for geometric modelling kernels. O-minimal structures provide a more general setting than the traditional semialgebraic sets; they allow semianalytic sets such as screw-threads to be modelled accurately. O-minimality constrains the class of sets to ensure the retention of the key finitary pro...
متن کاملFORCED WATER MAIN DESIGN MIXED ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION
Most real world engineering design problems, such as cross-country water mains, include combinations of continuous, discrete, and binary value decision variables. Very often, the binary decision variables associate with the presence and/or absence of some nominated alternatives or project’s components. This study extends an existing continuous Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to simultan...
متن کاملCasimir effects of nano objects in fluctuating scalar and electromagnetic fields: Thermodynamic investigating
Casimir entropy is an important aspect of casimir effect and at the nanoscale is visible. In this paper, we employ the path integral method to obtain a general relation for casimir entropy and internal energy of arbitrary shaped objects in the presence of two, three and four dimension scalar fields and the electromagnetic field. For this purpose, using Lagrangian and based on a perturb...
متن کاملDeveloping a Multi-objective Mathematical Model for Dynamic Cellular Manufacturing Systems
This paper is in search of designing the cellular manufacturing systems (CMSs) under dynamic and flexible environment. CM is proper for small-to-medium lot production environment that helps the companies to produce variable kind of productions with at least scraps. The most important benefits of CM are decline in material handling, reduction in work-in-process, reduction in set-up time, increme...
متن کاملDesign of Manufacturing Cells with Two- Phase Model and A Heuristic Algorithm
A Two-phase model for configuring a cellular manufacturing system is proposed. In phase (I), for the first time, number of cells is considered as a decision variable. In phase (II), pursing two different objectives, one minimization of underload and the other, maximization of similarity of parts within a group, the design procedure is performed. As one cannot have these two objects together, a ...
